Injury blow for Lions

The Lions suffered a late setback when hooker Malcolm Marx had to be withdrawn from their bench ahead of Friday night's Currie Cup match against the Pumas.

Marx, who picked up a rib injury against Western Province last weekend, will be replaced by Willie Wepener for the clash at Ellis Park.

The Lions confirmed that Marx failed a late fitness test but will be re-assessed before the Lions play away to Griquas in Kimberley next weekend.
