The Wallabies ran in six tries to the Baabaas’ five, but two late tries by Baabaas and former Wallaby wing, the ‘Honey Badger’  Nick Cummins and replacement Lions flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff ensured the Baabaas narrowed the gap from being down 22-40 to just four to ensure the nail-biting finish.

While Western Province centre and captain Juan de Jongh was the only SA player to start for the Baabaas, the other five made big contributions from the bench in the second half.

They included Boshoff, Cheetahs scrumhalf Sarel Pretorius, former Cheetah and Springbok flank Heinrich Brussow who now plays in Japan, as well as the two Sharks props Thomas du Toit and Lourens Adriaanse.
