Western Province need to up the ante in Bloemfontein against the Cheetahs this weekend, cautions their coach Allister Coetzee.

Province are coming off a struggling 19-13 win over Griquas last weekend at a wet Newlands, but are still joint top of the log, but placed second on points difference.

“This competition is about taking your points,” said Coetzee.

“We will take our points, but we know we need to make a lot of improvements and be more accurate on the day in our next game against the Cheetahs.”

The Cheetahs might have been hammered 50-26 by the Sharks last weekend, but were unlucky to lose 15-14 at Newlands earlier in the competition.

Province will be boosted by the return of regular captain, scavenger flank Deon Fourie, above, who has recovered from a rib injury, as well as flank Michael Rhodes, who returns from a one week suspension.
