Mkhize’s signing comes close on the heels of that of former Baroka FC winger, Donald Mokontolela on Wednesday.

“Yes Thami is a Pirates player. He signed a three year deal yesterday. He is at training with the team as I talk to you,” said a source who is friends with Mkhize.

Mkhize was one of the hardworking players in Martizburg’s team last season as they battled relegation. His contract ended last month, and he could not agree on a new deal with the Team of Choice and Pirates jumped in with a better offer for him, according to our source.

Meanwhile, it is believed that new Pirates coach, Muhsin Ertugral will have to asses all of the team’s players including those that were out on loan last season before he makes his final squad.

Pirates have recalled all their players, and it is believed there are close to 80 of them in camp where Ertugral has to choose his squad for next season.
