Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler hopes that their current form strikes fear in the teams they  face in the next couple of weeks.

Pirates have won four of their last matches. Starting with the win over Kaizer Chiefs in a cup tie, the 3-1 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces, followed by 1-0 victory at the Orlando Stadium against Bloemfontein Celtic and then the recent 5-0 drubbing of Jomo Cosmos.

Tinkler and his men are set to face Bidvest Wits on Wednesday night in an Absa Premiership match at the Bidvest Stadium.

“Our next test is against another big team, Bidvest Wits, and we know the boys will go there highly motivated for that. Going there with this type of result (5-0 against Cosmos) will be a massive confidence boost. Possibly this will put a bit of fear in some of the teams above us,” said Tinkler.

Wits got a 3-0 hiding from Azam FC over the weekend in the Caf Confederations Cup match, but Tinkler doesn’t expect Gavin Hunt’s Clever Boys to roll over and play dead. Wits have a realistic chance of catching Mamelodi Sundonws and winning the league title. Seven points separates the two sides, in first and second place in the league table respectively.

“We know the importance of going there and collecting the three points because they are a team that still stands a chance of winning the league title. I know the focus of the players will be in the right space, it’s these games that worry you the most, the added advantage is that we come off a very confident result and they don’t,” said Tinkler.
