Orlando Pirates coach, Eric Tinkler, said he knew long before his team thrashed Jomo Cosmos 5-0 that they would mete out a serious hiding to one of their opponents.

“I said that somewhere along the line, we were going to give somebody a hiding. That happened to be Cosmos,” said Tinkler in a media conference ahead of Sunday’s Nedbank Cup clash against Ezenkosi.

Pirates went on rampage a few weeks ago and thrashed Cosmos 5-0 in a league game at Orlando Stadium.

Tinkler said the way his team have been playing all season, he knew they were capable of scoring a huge win.

Meanwhile, Tinkler has revealed that Pirates fans favourite, Oupa Manyisa will not be back anytime soon, in fact he may only make his come back next season.

“Oupa is one of the most talented players in the country and we would not want to rush him. He suffered a long term injury that put his career on the line. I know I may have said he would be back in April…”
