The MTN8 Champions are currently 10th on the log standings with 30 points, just four points adrift of eighth-placed Chippa United.
“We want to finish as high as we can, getting into the top eight is a target we have set. Right now we are tenth, we want to get to eight, we will try to get to seven and try to climb as high as we can,” said the Ajax Coach.
In their previous game, the Urban Warriors held Kaizer Chiefs to a goalless stalemate at the FNB Stadium, and De sa added that he knows what Amakhosi coach Steve Komphela is going through with Chiefs going five games without a victory in the league, with his Ajax team having went on a slump at some point this season.
“We have also had our slump. I know what Steve is going through; when the goals are not coming you keep on hoping that it hits the guy at the back of the head and it goes in eventually. But that happens with a lot of teams and strikers all over the world. We had those moments too, but we starting to get it right a bit now, the way we playing it starting to shape a little bit,” he added.
De Sa’s other objective is to get to 40 points, but he says it won’t be easy looking at their remaining fixtures.
“Tough games to come. We play the top and bottom teams. We will like to get to 40 points if we can.”
Ajax next league encounter is against log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday, April 27.
