Kaizer Chiefs coach, Steve Komphela says he is happy that his team have finally won a game, avoiding a bad record.

Komphela guided his team to victory for the first time in over two months on Wednesday evening when they beat University of Pretoria 2-1 at Tuks Stadium.

It was the Amakhosi veterans, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Willard Katsande who scored the goals that led to the win, with Vuyisile Ntombayithethi getting the consolation goal for Tuks.

“”These three points helps us get rid of these draws we hate so much,” said Komphela after the game. Amakhosi have been playing well and creating chances but failing to convert them into goals, something that made Komphela feel he was sounding more and more like a broken record in post-match interviews as he had to repeatedly decry the goal drought.

But on Wednesday Komphela could sing a different tune and flash a smile after the club’s first win since February 20.
