“Thank you Reyaad for your valuable contribution to the club. We reached greater heights together. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours,” wrote Amakhosi on their official Instagram account on Thursday afternoon.

Chiefs were in negotiations with Pieterse since the beginning of the season, with the talks stopped at the ‘keeper’s request and the reopened recently.

But the two parties failed to reach an agreement, leading to Amakhosi succumbing to the fate of losing one of their promising young stars.

The 24 year-old Pieterse has previously been linked with a move across town to Amakhosi biggest rivals, Orlando Pirates, but it remains to be seen where the youngster will end up.
