More movements from the ABC Motsepe league to PSL and NFD expected

The recent ABC Motsepe league national play-offs have seen a lot of team’s both on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and the National First Division (NFD) benefiting from the talent that was in display at the competition in Bloemfontein.

A number of players have made moves from the third tier to the second tier, as well as the elite league.

ABC Motsepe league Gauteng Champions JDR Stars, have seen their star striker Vusimuzi Ncube, who was reported to be on the wanted list of many club’s by this week’s Phakaaathi. Ncube was captured by Port Elizabeth based outfit Chippa United, who offered him a 2-year contract and an option for a one year extension.

Manco Millano, who won the third tiers Free State region, lost their goalkeeper Innocent Mbangeni, while their skipper Bonakele Twala, who was one of the impressive players at the tournament is reported to be o the wanted list of top PSL sides.

North West Champions Orbit College saw their right back Thabo Kgabao and central midfielder Tshepo Sedite leaving the club to join Baroka FC in the PSL.

While Kings United, who will be plying their trade in the NFD next season after getting promotion lost their midfielder Thobani Kunene to Platinum Stars.

According to a Phakaaathi source who was at the tournament, there is still a number of players who played at the playoffs and are expected to seal deals with PSL and NFD sides.

“There were many scouts in Bloemfontein, there will be more signings revealed for the next couple of weeks. It is just that some of these boy’s don’t have agents, which makes it quite difficult for them to negotiate deals with the teams. Because they don’t want to be ripped off and sometimes you find out that the club does not want to release the players,” said the source.
