The national Under-20 team (Amajita) continued with their fine display at the Cosafa Cup booking their spot in the final after smashing Angola 5-0 in the semi-finals at the Moruleng Stadium in North West last night.
The tie began with Amajita on the driving seat when Kobamelo Kodisang’s long shot was punched away by Angolan keeper Joao Eduardo in the sixth minute, as Thabo Senong’s charges attacking from all angles.
It took only the 12th minute for the home side to take the lead, when Wiseman Meyiwa benefited from a clumsy mistake by Eduardo to give the team an advantage.
Angola tried to respond with Zinadine Catraio, but his shot in the 17th minute went away from the poles.
Towards half-time, Menzi Ndwande got the team’s second goal of the match, as Amajita took total control of the game.
The second half started a bit late with flood failure at the venue, however, the matter was fixed and the game continued with Angola looking to get back into the game.
But it was Amajita who got more goals when Luther Singh scored in the 57th, 71st and 83rd minute to win the tie 5-0.
Amajita are set to defend their title against Zambia on Friday.
