Amabhubesi are still top of the NFD standings and enjoy a healthy 12 points lead as both close chasers, Royal Eagles and Spurs couldn’t get wins.

Eagles suffered a surprise defeat to lowly Cape Town All Stars with Kosta Papic’s team again failing to capitalise on their dominance. The defeat leaves Eagles in third place with Spurs a close fourth.

The biggest winners on the afternoon were Black Leopards who jumped second on the log after a 1-0 over Santos. Lidoda Dhuva are now on 27 points, 12 behind Thanda.

AmaZulu’ s hope of finishing in the promotion spots took a knock with the Durban based team suffering a 2-1 defeat to Mthatha Bucks.

Jomo Cosmos started life at their new home, the Tsakane Stadium in the East Rand, with an impressive 2-1 win over Milano United.
