Majoro reveals reason for Pirates move

Lehlohonolo Majoro said winning a Caf competition was of the motivating factors for his move to Orlando Pirates from Kaizer Chiefs.

Majoro got a taste of continental cup competition after moving to Pirates, as Amakhosi struggled to earn a place in Caf club competitions following their decision to withdraw from the competition with a subsequent ban by the tournament organisers.

“I had an opportunity to watch them (Pirates) playing in the final of the Champions League and I saw the hunger and the commitment they showed when they were playing. It made me want to be a part of a group of hardworking individuals. I believe it’s one of the things that contributed to me moving to Pirates.”

Majoro is played as a substitute striker at Pirates, as Eric Tinkler favours the pairing of Kermit Erasmus and Thamsanqa Gabuza up front, Majoro is laidback and will support Tinkler starting XI on Saturday.

“It will be an honour for me (If selected to play) and I would like the experience to be a memorable one. The journey that we went through to reach the final is a motivation,” Majoro continued.

“If I am selected to play I will be grateful, but if I am not, then I will be behind the team selected, supporting them.”
