Larsen feels the heat

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen feels their next two games will be difficult because they will face struggling sides in the Absa Premiership.

Arrows face embattled Ajax Cape Town in a league encounter on Wednesday evening at the King Zwelithini Stadium before facing Chippa United at the Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.

Abafana Bes’thende come into Wednesday’s clash on the back of 3-1 victory over Free State Stars last Saturday. The win at Goble Park marks Larsen’s second victory in charge of the Durban side, after a slender 1-0 win over Polokwane City last month.

“I think our next two games will be difficult games because both teams are in desperate need of a win particularly Ajax, but we can’t underestimate them they are a very good side on their day they can tear any team apart any team,” said Larsen.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic coach weighed in on Ajax’s form taking a dive after a fine start to the 2015/2016 season, saying he believed that Cecil Lolo’s passing has all to do with it.

Ajax haven’t won a match since beating defending Absa Premiership champions Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 final in September.

“I think he was such a good personality and had so many friends in the club. I think it has affected them in a big way. We feel bad about it but we have to get on with our business unfortunately, we feel sad for their situation but we have to be professional in our application and collect maximum points at home.”
