Katsande was named Man of the Match in Amakhosi’s last two games – the 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates and the 2-0 win over Golden Arrows.
Katsande told Phakaaathi that although he is happy to get the accolades, when he is ignored it doesn’t affect him in any way because he understands that his position is not glamorous.
“Our position as midfield anchors is not that fancy. Let’s be honest, the supporters go to the stadium looking for something to cheer on. Our duty is to break opposition play… but the supporters don’t care much about that.
“They realise your importance once you are not in the game and the opposition puts you under pressure and they realise it is because you are not there,” said Katsande.
He revealed that the modern methods of play require that defensive midfielders also push up and add numbers when the team is in attack, which is what he has been doing lately and scored a few goals too.
