Shopkeeper and brother robbed by armed assailants

The robbers fled in a silver-green Mercedes-Benz with the registration JJ53MKGP.

A Bangladeshi shopkeeper and his brother are lucky to be alive after they were held at gunpoint during a business robbery at their Third Street shop on Tuesday evening.
The victim told the police he was in the shop with his brother when two men walked into the shop and bought an energy drink and rice.

While waiting to pay, one of the men pulled out a gun, pointed it at the shopkeeper and demanded he handed over the money.
The men took R1 300 in cash and two cellphones worth R2 300 before fleeing in a silver-green Mercedes-Benz with the registration JJ53MKGP.
No shots were fired during the robbery and no injuries were reported after.
