Learners participate in Reach For A Dream’s Slipper Day

Julia Sotirianakos, CEO of Reach For A Dream, said, "This is not only to celebrate these courageous dreamers, but to inspire hope among them, so they know that no matter what obstacles arise, they are never alone in their journey."

Veritas Preparatory College and Laerskool Selectionpark answered Reach for A Dream’s call to participate in Slipper Day on May 5.

The campaign aims to help children battling life-threatening illnesses.

By purchasing supporter stickers, learners earned their right to wear their fluffy slippers to help these children reach for their dreams.

This fun fundraising campaign, which began in KwaZulu-Natal in 2011, has spread country-wide, with everyone from office professionals to kids wearing their bunny-eared and fuzzy slippers instead of shoes.

All proceeds from the day go to Reach For A Dream, an NPO, to help children fight diseases by making their dreams come true, such as swimming with dolphins, meeting an idol or celebrity, or getting a new doll house.
