Artium Arts Festival – Unveiling the stars of tomorrow

Dancers from local schools in Mpumalanga lit up the stage with their mesmerizing performances at the Artium Arts Festival.

The Artium Arts Festival in Mpumalanga has concluded its 2023 edition with resounding success, celebrating the outstanding talents of primary and high school learners in the region.
From July to August, approximately 1 800 learners from various schools participated in this annual event that has grown beyond its borders, thanks to the tireless efforts of the organisers.

Magda Wolmarans, chairperson of the organisation, expressed her delight at the remarkable level of participation this year. “The 2023 Artium Arts Festival has been an exceptional journey for all of us. It’s a testament to the dedication of our youth and the unwavering support of parents and teachers in nurturing these God-given talents.”

This year’s festival encompassed a wide range of artistic areas, including dance, visual arts, photography, creative writing, dramatic arts, instrumental, and vocal sections.

The learners brought their “A-game,” impressing esteemed adjudicators at local schools throughout the region.
The pinnacle of the festival, the ‘Festival Concert,’ took place on Monday, October 16 at HTS Witbank.

This event showcased the section winners, leaving the audience in awe of the wealth of talent on display.
In recognition of their exceptional performances, LJ Esterhuysen was awarded the Primary School’s ‘Bestuurstrofee,’ while Eulaili Ludeke claimed the High School ‘Bestuurstrofee.’

Artium Arts Festival wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the management and organisers of each section for their dedicated work throughout the year.
As this year’s festival came to a close, the community eagerly anticipates what the talented youth of Mpumalanga will bring to the table in 2024.
