The Hyundai venue launched in locally towards the end of 2019 to compete in the small SUV segment. Now Hyundai South Africa has expanded the derivative line-up to include three Limited Edition variants. The Limited Edition variants, of which there are only going to be 500 units imported, are going to feature two-tone exterior paint finish consisting of a white roof and blue body colour. Another exterior feature is the 16-inch alloy wheels which come as standard.
Further bolstering the appeal of the new Venue derivatives is the beige colour theme throughout the cabin as well as the leather and denim cloth seats. The centrally mounted infotainment system takes form in an 8-inch display audio touchscreen system which also serves as a rearview monitor when backing up the car. The system is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible and allows for app-based navigation, streaming audio and voice-controlled search capabilities. Occupants also benefit from dual USB ports while the driver gains a 3.5-inch TFT driver’s instrument cluster display which to illustrate useful information. Additional standard features on the Limited Edition variants include a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, glovebox cooling and rear air condition ventilation ducts.
“The Venue was very well received in South Africa since its launch, and the Limited Edition adds a little more pizazz to the range for customers who are shopping for a small SUV with a stylish exterior, outstanding comfort and convenience levels and a powerful and very efficient turbocharged engine,” Stanley Anderson, director, sales and operations, Hyundai Automotive South Africa.
The Venue comes standard with six airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners with force limiters, ISOFIX child seat attachments and ABS braking. Further the small SUV benefits from Electronic Stability Control as well as Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Hill Start Assist Control.
Under the bonnet of the Venue Limited Edition is a three-cylinder turbocharged Kappa 1.0 T-GDI engine which either comes mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The combination delivers 88 kW and 172 N.m of torque and promises to return 6.5L/100km with manual transmission fitted and 6.9L/100km with the 7-speed DCT.
Warranty and service
The Venue Limited Edition variants are sold with a seven-year/200 000 km warranty, a three-year/45 000 km service plan, and seven-year/150 000 km roadside assistance.
