According to the police, the couple were on their way to work at about 7.30 am. The husband was busy closing the gate and the wife was waiting in the car when an armed man wearing a balaclava appeared and confronted the husband.

Moments later, a second suspect emerged from the bushes.

The wife was forced out of the car at gunpoint and the suspects ripped the husband’s jacket and used it to tie the couple up. They were made to lie in the bushes.

No shots were fired, and the attackers fled in the couple’s white Ford Bantam bakkie (NJ 38977). The couple were also robbed of their cellular phones.
