NOVICES and former Comrades runners alike are encouraged to register for the 2011 Comrades Marathon quickly to avoid disappointment as the entries close at the end of this month.

Entries for Comrades 2011 formally opened on September 1 and close on November 30. The entries currently stand at over 13 200 and the number of participants in next year’s race has been capped at 18 000, with no extensions.

Next year’s race will be an up-run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg on Sunday, 29 May, 2011, ending at the Oval in Alexandra Park.

Entry forms are available at all Mr Price Home, sport and clothing stores as well as Sportsman Warehouse outlets, local running clubs, provincial sporting federations and the Comrades Marathon Association. Online entries can be accessed on www.comrades.com.

Prospective participants can hand deliver or post their completed entry forms and proof of payment to the CMA offices in Pietermaritzburg.
