PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma’s nephew Khulubuse has been fined R3 000 for speeding at 181 km/h in his high-performance Maserati.

KwaZulu-Natal Transport Department spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane said the controversial mine owner was arrested in Umhlali near Ballito on January 9.

He was released on bail of R2 500 on that day and later admitted guilt and paid a fine of R3 000.

In another case, well known KZN spin doctor Vuyo Mkhize was allegedly caught driving at 198 km/h on the N2 highway.

Mkhize has represented many high profile people, including the suspended police general Bheki Cele, and tycoons Sbu and Shauwn Mpisane.

Mkhize paid bail of R2 500 at the Tongaat police station in November last year and appeared at Verulam Magistrate’s Court on charges of reckless and negligent driving and for exceeding the speed limit. This case has yet to be finalised.
