Pietermaritzburg-born Greg Minnaar won his second MTB World Cup event of the season at Fort William in Scotland on Sunday.

Racing for Santa Cruz Syndicate, Minnaar produced a fantastic final run to pip Australia’s Samuel Hill to the top position.

“I gave it my all,” said Minnaar afterwards. “Sam put up an amazing time, and I really had to pull out all the stops at the bottom of the course.”

Minnaar is now just four points off the World Cup standings top spot, making for an extremely tight finish in the men’s battle for overall victory this season.
