POLICE have ruled out foul play in the death of an elderly man on a farm in Mooi River yesterday.
Police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig refuted allegations that the incident was another farm murder.
She said Mooi River police are investigating the death of the 60-year-old resident on the farm and an inquest is being conducted
The body was found by the owner of the farm yesterday morning. The man had cuts on his wrists.
Struwig said no foul play is suspected and the man’s name will be released once his next of kin have been informed.
Fritz Erasmus of Nsele Ambulance Service said they had been called out to Nutcombe Farm after the man who found the body had suffered an anxiety attack.
“The man who found the deceased was a cardiac patient and required medical assistance.
“He had gone to look for the deceased after he did not come down to work at the dairy in the morning.” Erasmus said
Netcare took the cardiac patient to hospital in Pietermaritzburg. Erasmus said police were on the scene.
