A truck driver is recovering in hospital after he was shot on Thursday morning on the N2 in the Tugela area in KwaZulu-Natal.
Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said that at 2.30 am, Mandeni police received a complaint of a shooting on N2 and went to the scene.
“On arrival, they were informed that a truck driver was shot by unknown people and was taken to hospital for medical attention.
“The truck had bullet holes and the motive for the shooting is unknown. A case of attempted murder was opened at Mandeni police station for investigation,” she said.
IPPS Medical Rescue’s Dylan Meyrick said some of the goods, which were mostly medical goods, were stolen from the truck.
