Two people died after being shot in Imbali Unit 13 on Wednesday evening.

Two people died after being shot in Imbali Unit 13 on Wednesday evening.

It is alleged that the two neighbours Mduduzi Petros Shezi (55) and Nonhlanhla Ndaba were travelling together back home from work when they were attacked by unknown men.

Shezi had given Ndaba a lift home.

Shezi died at the scene, while Ndaba sustained injuries and was transported to hospital where she later died.

Plessislaer police spokesperson Sergeant Sifiso Gwala said the incident happened at around 6.30 pm on Magaye Road.

He said Shezi was driving a white Corolla and Ndaba was a passenger.

Gwala said:

“Shezi was found lying on the side of the road a few metres away from his car. He had multiple gunshot wounds in his body and … head. Ndaba sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Harry Gwala Hospital.”

He said it was still unclear what might have led to the shooting.

Gwala said the matter is still under investigation and no one has been arrested.
