Pupil hit by minibus taxi in Pietermaritzburg

A school girl was rushed to hospital after being hit by a taxi on Langalibalele Street in Pietermaritzburg.

A pupil was rushed to hospital after being hit by a minibus taxi on Langalibalele Street in Pietermaritzburg, on Wednesday morning.

At around 7 am, Mi7 emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of an accident in the CBD.

On arrival at the scene, medics found that the driver of the taxi had struck a pedestrian walking on the pavement after losing control of the vehicle.

The pedestrian, a girl of school-going age, suffered moderate injuries. Mi7 medics used advance life support to stabilise her before transporting her to hospital.
