It is suspected that the three men who were found dead in an overturned car on Sunday morning, died hours before they were found.

Three men were found dead in an overturned car on Sunday morning.

Three men believed to be in their 30s were found dead in a light motor vehicle on the M13 near Shongweni on Sunday morning.

Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene after being alerted to the vehicle by a private security company.

According to a statement by the paramedics, motorists noticed the vehicle on its side in the dense bushes adjacent to the roadway.

They said further inspection found a Renault Clio had rolled several times before coming to a rest in the bushes during the course of the night.

Emer-G-Med operations manager in Durban, Kyle Van Reenen said the vehicle was travelling from the west towards Durban when the accident happened.

“It would seem that the accident happened sometime during the night and because of the area where the car landed, motorists could not see it until day break.

“The passengers were found inside the car and must have been dead for about two to three hours because their bodies were starting to show signs of decomposition,” said Van Reenen.

Police have not responded to a request for comment by the time of publishing.
