LETTER:
When is something going to be done about the appalling state of Victoria Road?
There are deep trenches across it at two of the main intersections, and at all the entrances/exits to and from the Victoria Centre.
Every vehicle negotiating the hazards has to crawl through these deep trenches in first gear to avoid serious damage to tyres and suspension, all the time expecting to be rear-ended by the vehicle behind.
Not only is this disgraceful situation extremely dangerous to all road users, but traffic congestion has become more of a nightmare than ever.
Victoria Road carries a huge amount of traffic throughout the day.
Why on Earth can’t our municipality attend to the shocking state of it, which has existed for at least two or three months?
It is just another example of the endless and depressing examples of the sheer neglect of our city’s infrastructure.
