LETTER:
For two weeks the northern suburbs were plagued with power outages; for some up until Christmas Day, and others until New Year’s Day.
People blamed the mayor and the Msunduzi Municipality for this, yet it was a natural disaster that struck.
Many people from the northern suburbs are blaming specifically the ANC for the outages yet they voted for the DA to represent them. They should be asking the ward councillors who they voted for to give them answers. The DA just shifts the blame to the ANC to make them out to be villains.
Northern suburbs’ residents must not pass the buck to the ANC as clearly the northern suburbs did not vote for the ANC, so they cannot hold the mayor accountable.
Msunduzi and its management has assisted the northern suburbs and the DA ward councillors cannot pass the buck to the ANC. The DA says the DA “gets things done”, so they must do it for the people who voted for them.
The northern suburbs must blame the people they voted for first, before blaming our mayor as they did not vote for this mayor or the ANC. The DA is powerless and shifts the blame in Northdale to the ANC as it cannot govern anything, not even a ward.
The ANC is not racial in any way — when you hear people say the party got rid of Indians, you must ask the question why. Those Indians who were in power did not perform. It’s simple: you don’t work, you get axed.
People must know the truth before commenting and attacking the mayor and the ANC. They must start with the people they voted for and were elected.
Hold the people you voted for to account first before attacking a person and party you did not vote for it. Many say they pay their rates and councillors’ salaries, well DA councillors also get paid so ask them for answers.
