LETTER:
Serena Williams should have been banned from all future tournaments after her outrageous outburst at umpire Carlos Ramos at the U.S. Open recently when he chose not to be overawed by Her Serena Highness and did his mandated duty by penalising her.
Not only had she lost any semblance of decent behaviour and sportsmanship but she wrecked the first grand slam win for young Naomi Osaka.
She must stay home now, play with her little daughter and her millions, and marvel at her bizarre outfits but keep off the courts.
Watching the young women playing in Charleston now, they are such an interesting crop of players, such as Coco Gauff, Ash Barty, Bianca Andreescu and Aryna Sabalenka, among others who know how to conduct themselves on a tennis court.
Tennis can do without players with an unpleasant demeanour or death-rattling shrieks like the now retired Maria Sharapova.
