The car is packed and everyone is excited about your December holiday road trip – except one member of the family. Rover’s face says it all – he’ll be left behind… yet again.

Hopefully you’re a responsible pet owner and have arranged for a trusted friend or house-sitter to look after Rover while you’re gone. The other options are to book your pets into a kennel, or to take them with you.

Another very important thing to consider before you leave, is the safety of the earthly possessions you’re leaving behind.

Make sure your house content is insured and that your property is fitted with the necessary security measures to keep burglars at bay. Invest in a surveillance and armed response system, as well as electric fencing and outdoor sensors (beams). Also, don’t forget to notify your security company as well as neighbours that you’re going on holiday.
