Bumper opening for Jozini Mall

Jozini Mall opening - a resounding success with preliminary figures showing 50 000 shoppers

OVER 50 000 consumers flocked to northern Zululand’s newest community shopping centre – Jozini Mall yesterday (Thursday).

The much-anticipated opening of the 18,220 square metre mall went off better than expected with record number of shoppers taking advantage of the 50 shop retail mix led by anchor tenant Shoprite.

Gavin Tagg of Retail Network Services, which crafted the retail dynamics for the mall, told the Zululand Observer on Friday that the mall had met the expectation of northern Zululand shoppers.

‘The opening went off very well and we have lots of excited shoppers, taking advantage of incredible specials. This development is welcome news for this community, who have never enjoyed the benefits of a shopping centre before. It is lovely to see all the shoppers and this is indeed a beautiful shopping centre. The tenants have done incredibly well,’ added Tagg.

With national tenants exceeding 85% of the area, Shoprite also reported a bumper opening of its 3,124sqm store.
‘The eager demand from retailers to trade from Jozini Mall reflects the consumer potential in this community,’ Tagg said.

Besides providing a diverse retail offering, Jozini Mall is also easy to visit with 36 taxi bays, eight bus bays and over 400 parking bays, which were packed over the weekend.
