Keep Madiba’s words alive
What better way to pay tribute to the great Nelson Mandela than through a gesture of goodwill?
‘EDUCATION is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world,’ late former President Nelson Mandela so famously said.
At a time when the world is mourning his death, we must ask ourselves what we can do to keep these words alive.
This coming school year, thousands of local rural school children will be going to school barefoot and without school uniforms, as well as supplies they so desperately need to further their education. The Zululand Observer – in paying tribute to the life of Nelson Mandela – is undertaking an initiative to provide shoes and school uniforms for Zululand’s poorest young pupils.
Izulu Orphan Projects will be coordinating their annual school uniform distribution in early January, and you can honour the legacy of Tata Mandela by donating shoes and uniforms to this effort.
We would like to invite you to deliver your ‘soles’ to the offices of the Zululand Observer in Empangeni (035 799050), Richards Bay (035 7990500),
eShowe (073 6485200) or St Lucia
