Empowering women to be business key players

uPhongolo Municipality hosted a special function for more than 500 guests in Belgrade to celebrate and empower women.

TO commemorate Women’s Month, uPhongolo Municipality hosted a special function for more than 500 guests in Belgrade on Monday.

Women were recognised for their past achievements and their role in the struggle for freedom, equality and justice.

Speaker, Herbert Ngcamphalala, said the municipality was committed to give meaningful support to women, in order to actively engage in economic activity and ensure they become key business players.

‘We committed to give substantial support to women empowerment. We have established numerous programmes that are aimed to assist them obtain business skills and contribute meaningfully to the town’s economy and that of the country,’ said Ngcampalala.

Businesswoman Koekie Erlank from Junk Shopping Centre, also encouraged all women to raise their children well and to empower themselves.
