Community calls for traffic calming measures at the main Brackenham/Alton intersection after a horror smash at the weekend.
RENEWED appeals have been made for urgent traffic calming measures at the main Brackenham/Alton intersection after two more accident fatalities on Saturday morning.
‘Something needs to be done, urgently,’ said one prominent community member, ‘tired of seeing so many deaths at this horrific junction’.
‘It is especially so now, with the increase in truck traffic that moves at speed through the robot intersection.’
At around 5am on Saturday, an Opel Corsa collided at high speed with a black Golf. Both vehicles were carrying four occupants, some of whom were flung from the cars on impact.
The Opel rolled and landed on its roof, on top of one of the Golf occupants, who was later found by paramedics.
It is understood the occupants of the Golf were all on their way to work in Alton.
