Robbers pounce on domestic worker

The victim was tied up and threatened with a gun.

A domestic worker was robbed of her personal belongings on Tuesday after three robbers deceived her into letting them on to the property.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the robbery took place at an address along Ajax Road in Dalview at around 10:30.

The victim was hanging up washing in the back yard when she heard a noise at the front gate.

A small green car with three male occupants was parked outside.

The victim asked the men what they wanted and the driver told her to open the gate as they were there to take measurements.

She opened the gate and the driver pulled inside.

As she headed to the house, the victim was pushed to the ground and her hands tied with rope.

She was also threatened with a firearm.

The robbers took her cellphone and jewellery, and then left.

They did not enter the house and no other goods were stolen.

A house robbery docket was opened.
