Armed robbers hit furniture store

The owner and his wife were held at gunpoint.

Two gunmen terrorised the owners of a Kitzinger Avenue furniture shop on Saturday.

According to Brakpan SAPS, the robbers entered the shop at around 13:45 and pretended to be customers.

They then threatened the owner and his wife with guns and forced them into the back office.

The robbers, each armed with a pistol, told the couple they would kill them if they didn’t hand over money.

The pair took thousands of rands in cash, three cellphones, passports and car keys.

Before fleeing the shop, they damaged the CCTV wiring.

The pair then drove off in the couple’s car, a silver Mazda Drifter. A case of business robbery is under investigation.
