Boy critical after another Engen Junction crash

A young boy of between six and nine years old was thrown from the vehicle and critically injured. Another five people were also injured.

Another serious crash took place at the Engen Junction on Monday afternoon, when two vehicles collided. A young boy of between six and nine years old was thrown from the vehicle and critically injured. Another five people were also injured. AbaQulusi Fire & Rescue attended the scene to clean up, since a Hazmat warning was issued due to a diesel spill on the road surface. It is alleged that one of the vehicles may have skipped the stop sign. Even though there are warning signs, as well as rumble strips, drivers still take chances at the two-way stop coming from Lakeside and Paulpietersburg. At the time of going to print, it was uncertain if the child would recover due to the nature of his injuries. A Medivac helicopter was called to airlift the child to hospital. Another child was also transported to Grey’s Hospital for treatment.
