Groundbreaking kickstarts the new project in Region 7, Bronkhorstspruit

A ground breaking ceremony was held next to the R568 to hand the project officially over to Shonisani Rambau Construction.

The City of Tshwane (CoT) had a groundbreaking event for fixing the R568 on May 16, where they handed over the project to Shonisani Rambau Construction.

This road connects Bronkhorstspruit with Siyabuswa via KwaMhlanga. The Gauteng MEC of Roads and Transport, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela and her team from her office in Tshwane handed over the project.

Diale-Tlabela said, “This will be a 15-month project, which will also create new job opportunities for locals.”

The ward councillors from the area attended the soil breaking along with the regional head of Region 7, Jabu Mabona.

Shonisani Rambau Construction takes a collaborative approach to projects, building professional relationships based on mutual respect and truth.

The site manager, Tebogo Mampuru said, “We operate in a culture of teamwork, openness and support in which everyone is encouraged to strive for excellence.

“Social value and sustainability are at the value of everything we do, and our health and safety record is second to none.”

The Ekangala and Rethabiseng Taxi Association said, “We are excited about this new project because it’ is a road that the taxis use daily.”

The R568 had claimed numerous lives due to the condition of the road, where the road is full of potholes and no visible road signs.

Diale-Tlabela, who hails from Bronkhorstspruit, wants to give back to the community since she is in a position to say which roads in Tshwane are to be fixed or not.
