Councillor Shenan Cochrane warns the community to drive with caution due to potholes and repairs in the Muldersdrift and surrounding areas.
“I have just had confirmation from the Provincial Roads Department that the maintenance team will be attending to our problematic roads as reported, as soon as they have completed works near Maropeng [end of this week or early next week],” she explained.
She added that these roads include:
• Beyers Naude Drive
• N14
• Hendrik Potgieter Road
• Malibongwe Drive
• R114 (Drift Boulevard and Diepsloot roads)
• R540
• R532
She believes unprecedented rains have caused a lot of pothole damage on all roads and work has had to wait for dry conditions to effect repairs.
“The drier the better. Teams are working at full steam to catch up with maintenance. Until repairs are done, please drive with extreme caution as some potholes are dangerous and could cause accidents and/or serious damage to vehicles,” she concluded.
