Prescient Primary shines at KwaZulu-Natal soccer tournament

The school's U9 team played exceptionally well in all their matches, securing victories in all of them and earning them a silver medal.

PRESCIENT Primary School’s U9 soccer team has been selected for the SACSSA (Southern African Christian Schools’ Sports Association) Winter Sports U9 Tournament in Johannesburg on June 1.

The school’s administrator, Saskia Boyce, said the selection came after the team secured second place at the KZNCSSA (KwaZulu-Natal Christian Schools’ Sports Association) round of the tournament that was held at Redwood College in La Lucia earlier this month.

“This prestigious event saw participation from private Christian schools across KwaZulu-Natal, each vying for top honours in the tournament,” she said.

The school’s U9 team delivered an outstanding performance under the expert guidance of coach Ciska Elston.

“The team played four matches in the initial rounds, securing victories in all of them. This winning streak earned them a place in the semi-finals, where they continued their triumphant run with another win. In the finals, they faced off against Redwood College and finished second with a score of 1–0, securing silver medals,” said Boyce.

The school is immensely proud of the players, who are now looking forward to competing on a larger scale.
