Toti United Football Club receives R70 000 worth of kits, equipment

The Hollywood Foundation aims to make a contribution towards South African sport – not just to major clubs but also ones at the grassroots level.

THE Hollywood Foundation recently donated about R70 000 worth of soccer kits, balls and training equipment to Toti United Football Club.

The non-profit organisation aims to address various social issues impacting South African citizens by providing meaningful contributions which offer hope. Some of the many items the club received included new soccer kits, La Liga soccer balls, goalkeeper gloves and magnetic coaching boards.

Minenhle Mkhize, the sponsorship coordinator for the Hollywood Foundation, said Toti United, founded in 2010, is deeply committed to community development and the growth of the sport, so not supporting their request for sponsorship would be a disservice.

The Hollywood Foundation’s Minenhle Mkhize (sponsorship coordinator) hands the donation over to Toti United Football Club’s Petros Khumalo (deputy chairperson).

“It’s rare to find clubs with U6 teams, which are crucial for children aspiring to reach higher levels in the sport. Our goal is to make a contribution towards South African sport – not just major clubs but also ones at the grassroots level. We hope to continue assisting Toti United in the future,” he said.

Zenzo Ncube, coach and former chairperson of Toti United, expressed immense gratitude for the donation. “This support allows us to develop soccer from the grassroots level. A solid foundation is essential for building any structure, and sponsorships provide that crucial base. Most sponsors back established clubs, so it’s great to have one that sees our potential,” he said.

Not only will this donation impact the club’s development of soccer but also help with improving the facilities. “It reduces the burden of maintaining facilities and acquiring equipment. The new kits will also boost the players’ confidence and foster a sense of belonging while the community gets to see our commitment to upliftment,” said Ncube.
