WATCH: Joburg CBD explosion – evacuated area reminiscent of lockdown

Businesses near the epicentre remain closed

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena said the inner city is supplied from Bree substation, which is a few metres from the epicentre of the explosion and is suspected to have been affected.

Businesses remain closed after yesterday’s explosion on Bree Street in Johannesburg CBD.

Members of the public told Caxton Local Media that the area is reminiscent of lockdown with empty streets and little activity.
