Bedfordview SAPS arrests suspect for perjury
The suspect was arrested on May 16 for falsely reporting that her car had been hijacked.
A suspect has been arrested for perjury.
According to Bedfordview’s corporate communication officer, Lillian Modiga, the suspect was arrested on May 16 for falsely reporting that her car had been hijacked.
The arrest was made by Detective Sergeant Masindi who led the investigation under the Trio Task Team.

The investigation uncovered that the reported carjacking at Meadowdale Mall was untrue.
“It was discovered that the complainant sold the car to another person and was not hijacked as she had previously stated.
“She was arrested and detained at Bedfordview Police Station and the matter is under investigation,” said Modiga.
