Incomplete work frustrates

The workers left the area around the pipe and the meter uncovered and said the roads department was responsible for removing the rubble and tidying everything up.

Johannesburg Water requested that workers from one of their depots visit a Kensington resident who complained about shoddy work done years ago which was never fixed.

Mr Roger Sequeira said a new water meter was installed outside his house about three years ago.

The workers left the area around the pipe and the meter uncovered and said the roads department was responsible for removing the rubble and tidying everything up.

In response to an enquiry sent by the EXPRESS, Ms Millicent Kabwe, from Joburg Water, said when the workers at the entity excavate, they do backfilling on the dug up area and the Johannesburg Roads Agency is called in to reinstate the surface.

She said the area will be visited and if the work was not complete, both entities will complete their sections of the work.
