Sebenza SAPS ready for elections

According to Const Mahamba, there is a team assigned to deal with election-related crimes and there are officers are on standby as back-up to handle any unexpected crimes.

The upcoming National elections will be held on Wednesday, May 7.

The Sebenza SAPS spokesperson, Constable Sharon Mahamba, said the station’s officers are prepared for anything on the day.

According to Const Mahamba, there is a team assigned to deal with election-related crimes and there are officers are on standby as back-up to handle any unexpected crimes.

“All eight stations in the cluster have investigation teams and will assist the various clusters if or when any surprises occur,” said Const Mahamba.

She added that the Provincial SAPS would also be on stand-by as a back-up for any major crimes, like bomb scares or rioting.
