11 000 CV’s registered

Clr Gungubele said through the Community Bursary Scheme, 322 bursaries were granted to young people pursuing university, technical and FET studies.

In the recent State of the City address, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) executive mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele, said the Ekurhuleni jobs programme resulted in 11 000 CVs being registered on the database from the Inaugural Job Summit and Career Expo.

He said suitable candidates will be called for positions as and when they become available. He explained the purpose of the expo was to activate the implementation of the Job Creation Battle Plan.

Commenting on education, Clr Gungubele said through the Community Bursary Scheme, 322 bursaries were granted to young people pursuing university, technical and FET studies.

He said the Community Bursary Policy was reviewed and finalised to develop the youth’s capabilities by increasing the number of new tertiary bursaries to 500 per annum.
