Suspected copper thieves nabbed

The Bedfordview SAPS arrested a man for possession of stolen property on July 9.

Two officers were patrolling when they saw a suspicious Nissan. The officers followed the vehicle.

When the vehicle stopped, the officers asked the driver to show them what was at the back of the vehicle.

The driver told the officers he was transporting batteries. The officers searched the vehicle and found copper cables, which the SAPS confirmed belong to Eskom.

The suspect and two others were arrested and were detained at the Bedfordview SAPS for further investigation.

The suspects are due to appear in the Edenvale Magistrate’s Court soon. @BedfordJourno
