14 injured in taxi crash

The exact details surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events are still unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.

14 people were injured following a crash on Innes Street in Observatory, Johannesburg, yesterday.

Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived on-scene and found that a minibus taxi had left the roadway, crashed through a fence and into a small building where it came to a standstill.

The exact details surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events are still unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.

Upon assessment of all the occupants, paramedics found that a man was in a critical condition, three people were found to be in a serious condition and 10 people sustained minor to moderate injuries.

All the injured patients were treated on-scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
